Services timetable - Sihla Monastery

The timetable for ordinary days
16:00 o’clock – the ninth hour and the Vespers – the sexton takes the blessing and strikes on the small semantron around the church in the four cardinal points, after which the big semantron in the belfry is played and in the end, the big bell is rung; after that, the service with all its tradition starts. The Great Vespers starts, with litya, the morning service and the first hour.
17:30 o’clock – dinner is served and believers can listen to a useful word read by a priest. 00:00 o’clock – the service starts with the sound of the small iron semantron, then the small semantron, the big semantron and the big bell. The midnight office, the morning prayers and the first hour are held now.
07:00 o’clock – the akathist, which is announced only through the big bell. After the prayer, the small semantron is played, then the big semantron in three series, and now, as the Divine Liturgy starts, all the bells are rung.
10:00 o’clock – lunch is served, which is the main meal of the day.

The timetable for vigils – Sundays and holidays
16:00 o’clock – the ninth hour and the Small Vespers.
16:40 o’clock – dinner is served.
18:00 o’clock – the sexton takes the blessing, then strikes 12 blows in the big semantron with the mallet, saying Psalm 50 at each blow, then the big semantron is played and all the bells are rung as in liturgy.
7:00 o’clock – the akathist, which is announced only through the big bell. After the akathist, the small semantron is played, then the big semantron in three series, and now, as the Divine Liturgy starts, all the bells are rung.
10:00 o’clock – lunch is served, which is the main meal of the day. Every Saturday, after the Divine Liturgy, a requiem is held for those who passed away.
In the rest of the days, a short requiem is held whenever it is necessary.
