Location Sihla Monastery


Sihla Monastery, in the Neamt County, is located in the north-east of the Stanisoara Mountains, on Obcina Sihlei, a region also known locally as Sihla Mountains.
The pilgrim can choose between two routes by car - Agapia Monastery – Sihla, 8 km, or Sihastria Monastery – Sihla, 8 km. On foot, the paths are shorter: Agapia – Sihla, 5km, or Sihastria – Sihla, 3km. The pilgrim who reaches the top of the mountain, where Sihla Monastery lies, will discover a breathtakingly beautiful and wild landscape, with panoramic views of the neighbouring mountains. But the most overwhelming will be the feeling of greatness of these holy places full of the most captivating and mysterious history of the hermits that lived in the Sihla Mountains for centuries, some of whom have been sanctified.
